Maria Denison writes as a hobby, embracing her passion for creative writing. If she took it seriously, it would turn into work, and then it wouldn’t be fun. By day, she is an entrepreneur and business owner. At night, she dons her creativity cape and immerses herself in writing, contributing to her author biography. She has lived all over, with the East Coast, Midwest, and West Coast each feeling like home. She resides with her husband, daughter, and her grandson, along with a standard poodle named Levi, who has anxiety issues. Levi is a big, blonde, beautiful furball that keeps them laughing despite his distress. Ms. Denison proudly states that she has never listened to a podcast in her life. She doesn’t blog, maintain a Pinterest board, or belong to any clubs, virtual or otherwise. Not that there is anything wrong with that. Instead, she spends her days living, traveling, seeing friends, partying, shopping, reading, and watching her favorite shows. She knows that’s old school, but it’s a blast. She firmly believes, as the kids say these days, 'You do you.' With the launch of her first book in women's fiction, though, she will need to 'work' and start engaging in all the social media and marketing she finds annoying. Maybe she will enjoy it. Change is healthy.
It was important to me to write a story in my author biography where the protagonist is a 'well lived' woman. There really is something to be said about age and wisdom. I think back to so many times in my life when I would have handled a situation entirely differently, and what jumps into my mind is, 'Youth is wasted on the young.' I am a
It was important to me to write a story in my author biography where the protagonist is a 'well lived' woman. There really is something to be said about age and wisdom. I think back to so many times in my life when I would have handled a situation entirely differently, and what jumps into my mind is, 'Youth is wasted on the young.' I am also a huge fan of positive thinking. I admit it is not always easy, but it is so much more beneficial for your mind, body, and soul. When that door slams in your face, sneak around and locate a window you can shimmy open. If you need to have a pity party for a moment, take it. But then, start searching for an opening. You may need a crowbar and some antidepressants, but I promise there is a way in or out. Stop, assess, and implement. Finally, my last thought for now. Like my characters in this women's fiction series, 'happy endings' are subjective. Fairy tales are not sustainable. The one truth I think we can all agree on is that life is complicated, but that doesn't make it unhappy. It's just... life. Live it. Love it. You only get one chance at it.

I am at a new point in my life that I want to start blogging about. It’s a journey many of you will likely encounter or are currently experiencing. It's the moment when you have to start taking control of your elderly parents, when the child becomes the parent. This transition can be heartbreaking, challenging, disappointing, frustrating, and stressful. My now 90-year-old mother has moved in with me, and let's just say it’s been a massive adjustment. I’ve always relied on humor to get through tough times, but I’m finding it difficult in this situation. Because of that, I want to create a forum to support those of us navigating this pivotal moment in our lives. I want to find the funny in this, especially when it comes to my mother, who seems to think she no longer needs to use soap when she bathes. As part of this journey, I also plan to share my author biography and delve into creative writing, focusing on women’s fiction that resonates with our experiences.
